This was the first time at this recent Alea game for both Mark G and me. I'm not a big fan of negotiation games but the rest of the Alea range is so good that I was expecting good things from this. Everything in the game virtually is up for negotiation. Each turn, one player moves around the city, visiting locations where certain actions or commodities are available. His movement can be influenced by the other players who can offer something in return for moving where they want and allowing them to take the action associated with the location. The main aim is to make cash by delivering orders of commodities to a particular location, moving messages between locations and collecting privileges associated with the various locations. In trading, everything has a value and getting the value right is key to being successful.

Being the first time Mark and I had played, it was difficult to judge the values correctly, but I decided early on only to buy bargains and concentrate on collecting privileges. It was a tactic that nearly worked and if I had managed to get two more of these in adjacent locations, rather than being disconnected, I would have been very much in contention. Ben and Mark K seemed to be completing their orders pretty well , with Mark K in particular getting at least three valuable large orders delivered. In the final reckoning, Mark won fairly comfortably but Ben and I tied for cash, this being broken by the fact that I had 1 more commodity token left over in my hand than Ben. A good game in my view but not as good as some of Alea's other non-negotiation games.
