We followed up with a game of Station Master, a fairly simple card game designed by Chris Bayliss. In the game, players attempt to influence the value of departing trains by assigning passengers and carriages, in an effort to get the trains to depart on time and accumulate the most points. However, once you allocate passengers to a train, you can bet someone else is going to try and assign negative carriages to that train unless they decide to try and pile in and share the spoils.

In our game, for some reason, nobody wanted to share trains with me (something about Hall of Fame points and not wanting me to win), which made my life very difficult. Mark K looked in a good position with only a couple of trains to go, but Nige and Phil both managed to spoil his chances and Phil emerged with a good victory.

Not a bad end of evening game. It’s one I would play again but it’s not going to be a regular closer as there are lots of similar games I would choose ahead of it.
